Dream of publication finally comes true

A long-awaited dream has come true for a local debut author. Her first novel, which she began writing at 16, has been published — almost three decades later.
“Starhawk,” the first of an intended series, is the work of Tanya Parr, 43. Originally from Wisconsin, Parr has been a Stillwater resident since 2000. She started writing stories as a teenager when her grandmother introduced her to romance novels. After attaining her GED, Parr worked as a nurse and also in child care, serving as a nanny for 10 years.
