Tom Towslee, a new Salem author, will be on hand to sign copies of his first book at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Jackson’s Books, 320 Liberty St. SE (in the Pringle Park Plaza), in Salem.

Towslee has been a newspaper and wire service reporter and a Press Secretary for Governor John Kitzhaber, and now he works for the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department. His new novel is “Prince of Snakes” (Publish America, Baltimore; 2003; trade paperback; 232 pages; $19.95; ISBN 1-59286-286-1).
