Gainesville residents can prevent child abuse and help children to succeed by volunteering as a guardian.
April was National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. One cannot really understand the meaning of these words unless one views abuse through the eyes of a child who has experienced it. Only then can one feel the child's physical and psychological pain and understand its effect on the child's educational experience and ability to function effectively in our society.
