Former Kosy resident writes first book ... at 87

Lurlene Lowe Shearer, 87-year-old former resident of Kosciusko now living in Vicksburg, has written her first book and will sign copies Sunday, 1-5 p.m. at Lorelei Books in Vicksburg.
The book, “A Virgin Grows Up,” draws from the author’s own life experiences as she candidly writes of a young Southern girl in the 1930s who reveals the timeless obstacles teenage girls endure.
