'A Virgin Grows Up': Vicksburg woman pens 1st novel at age 87

VICKSBURG — At age 87, Lurlene Lowe Shearer has written her first novel, A Virgin Grows Up.
It's not what you think. In fact, her book is about the importance of young women "living right," of showing temptation the door, Shearer says.
"It's based on my life; it surely is."
