HUMPHREY - The experiences in Jody Preister's life haven't always been pleasant.
In fact, the challenges that she has faced include failed relationships, one that was an abusive marriage.
It was a long marriage, but it was one that was laced with a lot of abuse. My ex-husband was raised in a very abusive family. No matter how much we worked on it, it never ended. Then I went into a long-term relationship with an alcoholic, Preister said. I came from a very loving family. The time when my last relationship ended, I had to take a good look at myself and what I wanted. I always believed in love and commitment and marriage because I saw that in my parents.
