6/29/02 - SINCLAIRVILLE — In her a book, “A Woman of Limited Means,” former Charlotte Center resident Eileen Sloan Powell tells a heart-wrenching tale of growing up with an alcoholic father and a mother who was committed to Gowanda Psychiatric Hospital.
Speaking to a roomful of people who gathered Monday morning at the Sinclairville Free Library, the author described her book as strongly autobiographical and based on the limited amount of information she was able to gather about her mother.
