Having a book published is a cause for celebration, but for Greer resident Cesar Perez, it is also a catharsis.
Perez’s recently published book, entitled Deep Soul, is a fictional account of the author’s life as he grew up in Spain and then moved to the United States. It is based on the difficulties he and his brother, Sergio, had while enduring their parents’ divorce, their mother’s illness, their stay in boarding school and other adventures.
In the book, the two main characters are called David, the youngest, and Daniel, the oldest. David represents Cesar, who is two years younger than his brother, represented by the character of Daniel. In Deep Soul, these two boys quickly capture the reader’s heart as they keep falling short when it comes to having a regular family life.
