Poet turned his life around

Nathaniel Parker Jr. was raised one of nine children in a Christian home.
Parker, now 46 years old, said Friday that he even served as a minister beginning in his early 20s and stuck with it for about five years.
But, at some point during his time as a young minister, Parker lost faith in God and ended up turning to a "riotous" lifestyle that included "a lot of partying, clubbing and street life."
