Spring by Ottawa Anglican 'an engagin read' in any season
Crosstalk, October 2006 by The Rev. Joan Riding
Spring is Emily-Jane Hills Orford’s first novel. Emily and her family are members of St. Matthias parish in Ottawa, and Emily is a prolific writer of poetry, prose and some music. While maintaining a roster of 50 music students of all ages, she has written stories for young people and articles on many topics, including fine arts, musicology and art history.
All of these abilities and enthusiasms have helped to shape the plot and animate the characters of Emily’s book. Spring, the story of Melanie Harris, had been working its way through Emily’s imagination for many years until it was finally completed and published in 2005. It is well worth the wait!
