Publish America has announced the upcoming release of Linda
McKinney's new book, "Echos of Talking Drums." McKinney
is a Corsicana resident. A synopsis of the book is as follows:
The old Indian sat on his pony and watched the wagon train
down below. He was wise and brave and had lived many winters.
His name was Chief Warrior and his name was spoken of throughout
the many Indian tribes. His old eyes followed the movement
of the wagon train down below in the valley and the voices
of the olden times spoke to his spirit. Voices of long ago
seemed to whisper in his ears as the wind softly blew. "Look!
My warriors, look! The white man has come! Their coming will
change our ways! They will kill our buffalo and take from
us our land!" The old Chief raised both arms to the skies.
"Great Spirit, we raise our weapons, our blood will stain
the ground, but the white man will die too! Ride upon the
wind that carries the eagles and make us strong for the battle!"
