Altamont woman gets book published

Open cardboard boxes under Lisa Brown's coffee table reveal colorful covers of dozens of books that couldn't fit on packed bookshelves.
A bookmark peeks from the pages of an Alex Kava novel on the end table by her chair. With an Amazon gray parrot chittering from its bird cage beside the couch, a 6-month-old Afghan hound sounding in its kennel in the dining room, a chinchilla scurrying in its cage down the a hall, and doves cooing in the garage, one might wonder which is Brown's greatest passion: books or animals.
