Local author scheduled for book signing

Local author Delia Latham will sign copies of her novel, Almost Like A Song, starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 16, at Russo’s Books (Marketplace), 9000 Ming Ave., #I-4, Bakersfield.

Russo’s will also host a book signing for Latham in its East Hills Mall location on Saturday, September 23 from noon to approximately 2 p.m. The inspirational romance is Latham’s debut novel.

Latham grew up in Weedpatch and Lamont. She is the daughter of Obie and Luella Dawson, who resided here for many years prior to their deaths, and attended the First Jesus Name Church in Weedpatch, which was pastored by Mr. Dawson’s brother, Reverend Dearl Dawson.

A former Bakersfield Californian Staff Writer, Latham is a frequent contributor to Bakersfield Magazine and also enjoys writing greeting card verse, short stories and songs. She currently lives in Bakersfield with her husband, Johnny, a Pentecostal minister.
