Book signing a success
keepMEcurrent.com, February 16, 2006 by Sue Melanson

Local author Betsy Shaw Jarvis, signed copies of her first novel “Parting Ways” at the Kezar Falls Library Feb. 11.

The novel, published by Publish America, is set in Plymouth colony in Massachusetts, and precedes the building tensions between Indians and the ever-increasing white population that culminated in King Philip’s War.

Against this backdrop is the story of a young white girl who, because of a chance encounter during a hurricane, became life-long friends with the Wampanoag boy who grew up to become King Philip.
