Harold Gorder: husband, father, soldier, poet
Morrison County Record, June 20, 2006 by Tina Snell

Harold Gorder has written a book of poetry. Better said, he has compiled some of his poetry into a book. He has named this compilation, "Quietly Shining to the Quiet Moon." It is the last line of one of his favorite poems by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, "Frost at Midnight."

"It was never my intent to share my writings with the world," Gorder explained. "It is very personal. But I was told about a web site where poets can read and critique other works. I submitted some of mine, and got back both good feedback and criticisms. My family was then subtly insistent that I try to publish my work, so I said, ‘what the heck.’"
