Former Union City resident G. L. Parker has trained her research microscope on a familiar topic - the Irish in America.
In her first book, "Sadie" printed by PublishAmerica, of Frederick, Md., Parker has traced her Irish ancestors' roots in Manhattan, dating from the mid-1800s to the Depression era. The 180-page, illustrated book is named for Parker's maternal grandmother.
