Local author's novels explore heaven's mission for you

It's a good thing Cecelia Davis didn't give up writing after her first story as an eighth grader was returned to her full of red pencil marks.
"It crushed my spirits, and I threw it away," Davis said, recalling she had written a science-fiction story about outer space and had asked her English teacher to critique it.
