Adirondack Daily Enterprise/Weekender, July 8, 2005 by Brittany Bombard
Susan Cronin, owner of the Corner Cafe located in Gabriels, has signed a book contract with Publish America. Cronin, daughter of lifetime resident Lorna Buckert of Keese Mills Road, Paul Smiths, has written a ful-length children's book titled "Gidget Goes Away". Susan received the good news that her book was to be published while visiting her mother. "I was inspired to write this book because of the experiences that my son Jay Fountain and I has while living in Costa Rica, Central America," Cronin said. "In the beginning Jay was very upset about moving from Gabriels to a foreign country. He didn't speak the language and was upset about leaving all his friends and family. He soon learned that change could be a wonderful, fun filled adventure." "Gidget Goes Away" is about a puppy that learns she is moving from Costa Rica to Orlando, FLA. She must learn how to bark in English, and she must also learn to make new friends. Along the way she has an exciting adventure with her new friends and a Florida alligator. For more information about the book, contact Susan Cronin at 327-3308, or e-mail Cronin at suesouth@hotmail.com.
