Book Signing
Guardian Journal, March 2, 2006 by Susan Herring
Joyce Shields Colvin signed copies of her recently published novel "Whatever It Cakes" during a book signing held at the Claiborne Parish Library last Friday. Members of the Colvin family showed up in force including one very supportive husband, James, Another ardent supporter who didn't make the book signing was her son and Homer attorney, Jim Colvin. THe setting for the book is Russville (Ruston) a small college town, where two ladies own a cake shop during the day and moonlight as insurance investigators at night. They even hire an attorney from Homer...imagine that! James and Joyce were originally from Ruston, but decided to move to Hoimer after James' recent retirement from Ford Motor Company in Chicago. Joyce is presently working on her second book.
