Christian
romance author breezes through her first lovable love story
Stanwood-Camano News, August 5, 2003, by John Dean, editor

It's not
all sweet, breezy love and a bed of roses in Carol Benzel-Schmidt's
new novel, Dakota Breezes; in fact, the two love-interest
characters often have a hard time being civil to one another
out in the rugged prairies of South Dakota. Headstrong heroine
Dorine Andrews puts up with neighboring rancher Dean DeFoe's
arrogant interference until she heads off to college, leaving
the ranch in the hands of her rough-hewn, unprincipled cousin.
She comes home to serious trouble, personal peril and a love-hate
relationship that turns out okay after all. Dakota Breezes
is a loveable love story with enough tension to hold teen
and adult readers' attention, with a comfortable dose of respectful,
heartfelt romance, prayerful moments, brief Christian meditations
and even a brush with badlands danger in the form of rustlers.
But don't worry, it turns out okay after all.
